POLYCULTURE OF SEA CUCUMBER HOLOTHURIA SCABRA WITH SEA WEED GRACILARIA ARCUATA IN PEN CULTURE METHOD
This research had been done in coastal waters of Hansisi, Semau from March to April 2017. The purpose of research was to find out the effect of density on the growth and survival of sea cucumber which polycultured with seaweed in pen culture method. The research applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments of sea cucumber density were treatment A (5 sea cucumber/m2 with 50 g sea weed/m2); Treatment B (10 sea cucumber/m2 with 50 g sea weed/m2); and treatment C (15 sea cucumber/m2 with 50 g sea weed/m2). Results of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test showed that treatment significantly affected (P <0.01) on the growth of sea cucumbers. The highest growth of sea cucumber occurred at treatment A (37.93 g/individu), while the lowest was found at treatment C (31.15 g/individu). The survival rate of sea cucumbers was 100%.
